Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program

Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program
Phil Keoghan, "The Amazing Race"
Ryan Seacrest, "American Idol"
Tom Bergeron, "Dancing with the Stars"
Heidi Klum, "Project Runway"
Jeff Probst, "Survivor"

Will Win: Jeff Probst
Should Win: Tom Bergeron
Darkhorse: Phil Koeghan

Probst has won 2 years in a row and I think his streak will continue. But a close second is Seacrest. Koeghan hasn't won dispite the show never losing its race. I love Project Runway and if anyone should win, it should be Tim Gunn. Klum's nomination is just a filler here. Then there's Bergeron, who should win. Like Seacrest, Its a live show where you have to interact quickly and smartly with the judges and contestants, the difference is Bergeron is very funny and on his toes all the time, and has great interaction with the judges and the celebs. Seacrest is passable but not too entertaining himself and the only off scrip tend to be odd interactions with Simon.
Personally, I think this category should be broader, open to host and judges, whether to open it up indivudally or cast, is debatable, but people like Gunn and Bruno Tonloi would be welcome additions to an Emmy race.
PS, i also think there should be a contestant category. If they can have guest races for acting, they could have contestant one as well. Example, Cloris Leachman on Dancing was hilarious!

Reality - Competition Program

Outstanding Reality - Competition Program
"The Amazing Race"
"American Idol"
"Dancing with the Stars"
"Project Runway"
"Top Chef"

WILL win: American Idol
SHOULD win: Amazing Race
Darkhorse: none

I think this tends to be a 2 dog race....Idol and Amazing Race. I don't think Top Chef or Project Runway has a shot....Dancing is probably looked down upon by the voters. Amazing Race has never lost this award and I hope it win again! By far, its the best reality tv has to offer. Idol is the no 1 show on tv and its surprising it hasn't won because of that before but this year, it think it will. With the 2 hr finaly, lots of celeb preformances and a goodbye to Simon, It going to win this year.

Lead Actress - Drama

Lead Actress, Drama
Kyra Sedgwick, The Closer
Glenn Close, Damages
Connie Britton, Friday Night Lights
Mariska Hargitay, Law & Order: SVU
January Jones, Mad Men
Julianna Margulies, The Good Wife

WILL win: Margulies
SHOULD win: Margulies
Dark Horse: Jones

Hargitay and Sedgwick are out. Love Sedgwick and her show but I don't think its academys fav. Again, Britton is a surprise and could pull off an upset. To me, there isnt a leading lady in Mad Men, its all supporting, but they love the show and Jones has been over looked even in the supp race before so they might try to make up for that with a win here. That leaves Close and Margulies. Close has won a couple Emmys for the show already and they love her, plus shes a star! But this year they will honor Margulies. Its the hit drama of the year and shes won all the lead up awards and the show is well liked.

Tomorrow....Comedy Actor!

Lead Actor - Drama

Lead Actor, Drama
• Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad
Michael C. Hall, Dexter
Kyle Chandler, Friday Night Lights
Jon Hamm, Mad Men
Hugh Laurie, House
Matthew Fox, Lost

WILL Win: Laurie
SHOULD Win: Hall
Dark Horse: Chandler

Fox is out. This is a honorary nominee for his years on the show. Hamm I would say is a distant 5th place - they love the show but his character isn't cerebral in my mind and not as showy as the rest. Chandler get a shot because he is a surprise nominee and as a result has some amount of support amongst the voters. That leaves Cranston, winner last 2 years, hall and Laurie. I think Laurie submitted a ep. where hes going thru withdrawl or crazy, haven't seen the show in a couple years and it might be a 2 hour one if Im not mistaken so this gives him a big advantage. But its really a 3 horse race and wouldn't be surprised if any of the 3 win.

Drama Series Nominees
Breaking Bad
Dexter
The Good Wife
Lost
Mad Men
True Blood

Who WILL Win: Mad Men
Who SHOULD Win: LOST
Dark Horse: Dexter

First, True Blood is out, its vampires and I doubt that enthralls the academy, most of them probably find it silly, like I do! Then I think its a dog fight for the win. My pick is LOST, but I must admit Ive never seen Bad or Dexter, so Its more a fan vote for me. LOST final season so they may give them the win for that, however its hard to follow for the regular viewer so someone who only sees a few eps. to vote on might not be into it. The Good Wife is the breakout drama of the year and critics love it so it could win, esp coz of Juliana M. Dexter and Bad I know are dark shows, also the critics favs so they my split the vote here since what I hear is they both had strong season. That leaves Mad Men, the academy darling, I personally like the show a lot but think the overweling praise is a bit much9as in 30 Rock)...I think this is the tightest race of all nominees and anyone of them has a legit shot save for True......

Tomorrow Lead Actor, Comedy Series!

Emmys - Best Comedy

Best Comedy Nominees
Glee
Modern Family
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Nurse Jackie
30 Rock
The Office
Curb Your Enthusiasm

Who Will Win: Modern Family
Who Should Win: Glee
Dark horse: Nurse Jackie

Curb & Office don't really have a shot - 30 Rock could win again, its about the industry and they love Tina and Alec and it won 3 years in a row - Nurse Jackie was a surprise nominee and to me, that means it has a good amount of support behind it. Plus they Love Edie Falco. That leaves the cult hit Glee, which Im obsessed with. It has comedy, drama and Musical numbers! But the will will be Modern Family. Its a great ensemble comedy, cool format and the insiders love it. Glee will seem to juvenile for the academy while Rock and Family are sophicated

Tomorrow, Drama Series!
